Letter from Don Ash
To my dear Irish Colleagues,
I was asked to bring my class, "Craniosacial Therapy Around Death and Dying" (CADD) to Ireland for the first time in 2009. I have been blessed to have been able to teach the class in Canada, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Brazil and many times in the US since. Most recently I have been asked to bring the class back to Ireland. My heritage is from County Cork so I am coming home.
The CADD class is a class about life. Is there a place for CST in helping those who are suffering from physical and emotional loss? Most definitely. Loss comes in little deaths as in divorce, loss of a home, a job, a pet, a body part or ability. Ultimately loss, suffering and pain can come in the form of death of a significant other in your life or in contemplating your own transition. These issues can have severe effects on the physical body enabling body workers to be of service and make a difference. Severe physical effects can lead to emotional holding. The CST therapist trained in SER can be a wonderful facilitator for change as well. CST is about helping a person complete their biological process. This class will help the practitioner (personally) and their clients heal and complete their biological processes, even healing into one's own transition. This class will be unlike any CST class you have ever attended.
Including group discussions and table trade time here are some of the topics covered in the class;
* Definition of death and transition
* Ego and physical identity
* Techniques and strategies to assist the active loss process
* Viewing loss from the perspective of therapist, client and survivor
* Facilitating the therapeutic expression of loss by the client
* Strategies to support families and survivors
* Offering a pathway to hope and peace
Our class will be held at Dechen Shying Care Center in southern Ireland. It is a beautiful tranquil natural setting on the green cliffs looking out on the Atlantic Ocean. It offers a wonderful place to explore our ultimate human experience of life and celebrate the moving forward of our avocation of CST. I welcome all experienced CST/SER practitioner from every CST teaching, to attend this unique class. This will be the only offering in Europe this year.
Accommodations and class size are very limited, early registration is suggested. See details on the registration page that follows.
