IoPT or Identiy Orientated Psychotrauma Therapy is the work developed by Dr Franz Rupert in the past 25 years.

This method explores how early pre-verbal and non-verbal trauma, developmental trauma, and trans-generational trauma has been split off and how it can impact on our core unique being.  Our psyche is affected by unconscious splits desperate to be seen, acknowledged and integrated.

As CST practitioners we work with the body, CNS and ANS to access holding patterns. There are aspects of us hidden away in what Franz terms the traumatised split which is compensated for by coping and survival strategies….much of what we are working with in CST. IoPT is a methodology which brings us into contact with these traumatised and survival parts as well as our Health self.  Without contact with our identity and with what we really want …trauma spins around and around with no place to be resourced or integrated….sound familiar?  With his method we get insights to our many parts though the representation of others in the classical sense of constellation work…..

We work with a sentence of the Intention, which comes from the client….E.g. “I Want to connect With My Pain”. A representative is then chosen for each word and the “knowing field begins its movement and expression, representing some aspect of the inner world of the client. Through observation and exploration the client can be aware of major blocks or entanglements or identifications which, by their essence of being ‘held’ in the body are taking energy and often driving behaviours and patterns.

We will explore this with one piece of work on Saturday and explore the relevance to CST.
