IACST AGM 2013 Report

Last Saturday, 11th October 2013, the IACST Ltd held their AGM in the Horse and Jockey Hotel, Thurles. It was very encouraging to see a big increase in numbers attending this year and we would like to thank all those who made the effort to come, particularly the four members from the Biodynamics School.  This is very positive for CST in Ireland, and for the IACST which is working with other schools to set good and fair standards of Craniosacral Therapy.

There were some discussions during the meeting which were very constructive and which brought up some very important issues. These included the VAT issue, (see note on website for info); FICTA updates and the precarious position of Craniosacral Therapy; Sample CST days (see website for upcoming ones in your area next year); Insurance issues and updates; updates from the Education Task Group; various events where the IACST Ltd was promoting CST; adopting in the Constitution as the day-to-day management rules of the IACST Ltd; thus empowering this great statement of what IACST is about; and much more.

The AGM followed a very informative Boost your Business Seminar given by the very dynamic and passionate Audrey Burke-McCarthy of Motivaction (see photo opposite. The point that although we are first and foremost therapists, in order to make a living we also need to wear the business hat as well!  The members who attended this free seminar gave great feedback and went away highly motivated to boost their own business.   All those attending the AGM were given an IACST pen and Diary as a marketing tool.

A big thank you to the committee members who resigned and for all their hard work. during the year.  Please see the IACST Constitution web page for a list of the new committee members for 2013-2014 season.
